Zahid Hafeez

Mr. Zahid Hafeez is currently the Chief Risk Officer of Habib Bank Zurich (Hong Kong) Limited.

Mr. Hafeez has been with the Bank since 2020, and is responsible for Credit and Enterprise Risk Management, and acts and the Chairman of the Country Risk Management Committee, Secretary of the Board Risk & Credit Committee, and is also a Member of the Country Credit Committee, Asset & Liability Committee, Audit & Compliance Committee, Operations & Technology and Executive Committee.

Prior to joining the Bank, Mr. Hafeez worked at United Arab Bank for 2 years, where he designed effective and efficient collection strategies on charged-off & delinquent Retail, SME, and Corporate credit portfolio, as well as enhancing Remedial Policy and Procedures based on diversified experience and industry best practices.

Prior to this, he was the Chief Risk Officer and Interim Chief Executive Officer at Gulf Finance Corporation PJSC, where he set-up and streamlined Enterprise-wide Risk, inculcating Risk Culture across the organization, and effectively managed revenues, expenses and asset quality including investment portfolio. He was also chairman of key committees. Simultaneously, Mr. Hafeez was a member of Gulf Finance Saudi Arabia’s Board Risk Committee. For 8 years prior to this, Mr. Hafeez worked at Al Hilal Bank, as Head of Credit Portfolio Management & Credit Administration, Head of SME Credit (Corporate Banking) and overseeing the credit portfolio of Kazakhstan.

Before joining Al Hilal Bank, Mr. Hafeez worked in Pakistan at Standard Chartered Bank, Dubai Islamic Bank Pakistan Limited, United Bank Limited, and Union Bank Limited for 14 years in total.

Mr. Hafeez holds a Master of Business Administration from University of Hull, UK, and is accredited as a Certified Credit Risk Management Professional in Commercial Lending, Credit Portfolio Mangement, and as Certified Operational Risk Manager by the Hong Kong Institute of Bankers.
