These terms can change at any time.
We verify your identity and address by checking a number of electronic databases. This process involves matching your personal details against a range of publicly available records and credit records. We require your passport or driving license details, in order to process your online eDeposit application. If we are not able to verify the details provided to us (for example, if you have recently moved house or have little or no credit history or for any other unknown reason) we will ask you to provide documentary proof of identity.
In this situation, we will not be able to open an eDeposit account for you.
The initial deposit must be received within 14 days of account opening. If payment is not received within 30 days, the account will be closed.
You may transfer funds using BACS, FPS, CHAPS, or a cheque. Note that international cheques may take longer to clear and could incur additional charges.
Key Points To Remember:
- Ensure you include your unique account reference number when making a payment or deposit
- Only one payment can be made from your nominated UK bank or building society account, as provided during application
- The payment must come from a UK bank or building society account in your name and match the amount specified during application
- If sending a cheque, ensure it is payable to yourself, includes your unique HBZ reference number, and is drawn from a UK bank
- We do not accept post-dated cheques. If a cheque fails to clear, no interest will be earned and your account will be closed
Once the funds are deposited into your account, we will send you confirmation via email and courier. This will include your account details, such as account name, number, amount, term, interest rate, and maturity date.
We will not send you paper statements. You will only receive a deposit confirmation certificate once funds have been received in your eDeposit account.
