All Sirat products and services are approved by an independent Internal Shariah Supervision Committee (ISSC).
Internal Shariah Supervision Committee
The Internal Shariah Supervision Committee (ISSC) of Habib Bank AG Zurich Sirat is responsible for ensuring that all activities and operations are in compliance with Islamic principles of finance and banking. The ISSC convenes at least five times a year, or as needed, to review compliance. Day-to-day operations and urgent matters related to Sirat are referred to the Executive Member of the ISSC.
The ISSC is entrusted with the duty of advising and reviewing all Sirat products and services, along with the relevant contracts and agreements relating to the Bank’s transactions, to ensure that the Bank’s activities are at all times consistent with Islamic Shariah. The ISSC is accountable to the Country Management Committee and submits an Annual Report for their consideration, endorsed by the Higher Shariah Authority of the Central Bank of UAE.
The Bank’s ISSC members are highly esteemed Shariah scholars with extensive expertise in Fiqh-al-Muamalaat, Law, Economics, Banking, and Financial Systems.
